Artist's Comments

You know the drill. Full view or you won't be able to read it =P

Part 1 of... I have no idea, because I'm making these as I progress in the painting. =) Part 2 should be up later this week.

About 2 hours in Photoshop CS with my Wacom Sidekick

This is probably one of the best tutorials I've ever read. I really like the things you focus on and your way of explaining it. Thanks man :)

:iconclaushiru:
Your tutorial is really helpful to me. How you start your process is something I haven't been doing (research and sketching many ideas instead of taking the first one that comes to mind).

Does Martha Dahlig has her brushes up for download somewhere? I can't seem to find them. And how much time would you spend on a piece to get to this approximately point? Surely, the time you spent on the goddess was longer than usual since you were making this tutorial at the same time?
:iconarteche:
Yeah, it takes a lot longer when I have to stop after every step and save the image I need for the tutorial. Normally to get here it would be about an hour, maybe an hour and a half. This part of the process is pretty quick since most of it is working with large brushes and definite shapes. The detailing part is what will take me anywhere from 6 - 12 hours.

I think you can download her brushes from the ImagineFX site here: [link]

Very nice. I draw anime, but the general art tips are very good. Thanks!

i am going to study a little bit of more anatomy and brows the site more (though i have noooo idea for what to look :slow: )
and i think i'll enter the industrial design of the week...start small :D

now i've started reading the comments you made in the tut...blocking in and such..i always tend to skip blocking and start blending right away
do you use only the hard round brush set to other dynamics and opacity 100% ?

Funny...
No matter how many of these I read I always learn something new.
I like your working style and right now I think I should pick up my tablet for a change. Keep up the beautiful work.
